Viktoriapark with its winding paths is the perfect place for a few quiet hours away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Fittingly, Golgatha is also quite idyllically located at the southern end of the park: The beer garden can only be reached via a small turnoff that is easily overlooked. However, Golgatha (which has been around since 1977) has long ceased to be an insider's tip, and on weekends in particular it can get quite crowded.
A visit is still worthwhile, especially in the early evening hours: That's when it's very nice to sit on the sun terrace on the upper floor. From there you have a view over the entire beer garden and can enjoy the last rays of sunshine in peace and quiet. If you like it a bit more cozy: The Hollywood swings in the lower area invite you to lean back and relax with a cool drink. For all the hungry there are also classics such as bratwurst (also vegetarian), baked potato as well as a buffet with tomato, cucumber, pasta salad and more.
