Wood-paneled walls, patterned wallpaper and pictorial motifs from the early 20th century: When you enter the Buchwald pastry shop, you immediately feel transported to bygone times. At the white-covered tables and the old-fashioned wooden chairs, it's a bit like sitting at home with grandma - rustic, quaint, and always with a piece of homemade cake or pie on the plate.
The specialty of the house is Baumkuchen, already in the fifth generation it is made and sold here. Around the holidays, the cake is also often sold out. No wonder: it's rare to find a version of the classic cake that is so fine in taste and so moist at the same time. And even apart from the Baumkuchen, the confectionery is a small sweet tooth paradise: Several glass showcases contain a selection of almost 50 different cakes, tarts and fine desserts.
