There is no such thing as one Chinese cuisine. The country is too big for that, and the culinary differences between the individual regions are too great. Tang's Kantine nevertheless attempts a cross-section of this colorful, diverse cuisine and brings the respective culinary highlights from different parts of the country to the table. The focus in the restaurant is primarily on the spicy, hot Szechuan and the milder Shanghai cuisine, but there are also classic specialties from Canton such as dim sum.
The seasons also play a role in Tang's canteen: In the warmer months, for example, a selection of dishes is offered that are said to have a cooling effect: A classic, for example, is the cold wheat noodles topped with minced meat sauce. And there's just about everything else: well-seasoned, light appetizers for in-between hunger pangs, meat dishes as well as vegan alternatives, and - for those who like it - some spicy dishes, too.
