In Kreuzberg, the amiable team behind Distrikt Coffee: Sophie Hardy, Hannes Haake and Matthew Maue have opened their second café, Annelies.
Their concept is as smart as it is simple: using seasonal and regional produce, they pair familiar ingredients with unusual ones to create novel and delightfully different flavors. Like blueberry granola with beetroot and creamy yogurt. Or a smoked egg yolk with a dash of elderflower as sauce for drizzling over asparagus. Being exquisitely prepared with great attention to detail, the dishes not only taste delicious, but also look stunning, just like Annelies’ stylish interior.
