Restaurant Jabe aims to combine the best of Japanese cuisine with the Berlin lifestyle and modern eating habits. This is already in the name (Jabe stands for Japan and Berlin) and continues with the authentic dishes in the casually styled Mitte interior. The cuisine is Japanese through and through, while the concept is reminiscent of the latest gastro trends with many small dishes to share.
On the table are Japanese classics served in a convenient bowl format, such as edamame with yukari seasoning (a spice blend based on red shiso leaves) or crispy deep-fried gyoza dumplings. Continue with main dishes like the vegetarian udon bowl with wonderfully aromatic sesame sauce and fresh herbs or hearty meat and fish creations like the tuna steak in a ponzu reduction. Last but not least, there is another Japanese classic at Jabe, namely sushi. Here we especially recommend the somewhat more experimental "Jabe Special Rolls." These include creations such as the Aburi Salmon Roll with avocado, flambéed salmon coating and chili mayo, or the Shiso Horenso Roll with aromatic shiso leaves, fresh spinach, deep-fried tofu and vegan mayo.
