Is ice cream only for summer? Felix Schwabe, former pastry chef at What Do You Fancy Love, and Lisa Staib do not think so: Ice cream is always good, even in winter. For the offer of their Café Süßfein during the cold season, they have come up with something very special. As soon as it gets cooler outside, the ice cream offer is complemented by warm Baumstriezel fresh from the oven.
For those who don't yet know this delicious pastry: the dough of the Baumstriezel is traditionally turned onto sticks and baked over an open fire until the outer layer is nice and crispy. Finally, they are best sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar - and enjoyed while still warm. If you can't decide whether to go for the sweet pastry or the ice cream: On request, the (by the way vegan) Baumstriezel is also available with a scoop of your choice on top. A warm yeast dough with a crispy crust and a soft interior filled with smooth melting ice cream - what more could one wish for?
