The interior is clear and without frills, as is the kitchen. The Granoli Café serves breakfast and lunch for those who like it unpretentious and relaxed: the menu is small, the dishes delicious and prepared with love. Not far from the botanical garden, you can start the day with healthy granola bowls, fluffy pancakes or classic scrambled eggs. At lunchtime, there are hearty dishes such as stews, soups or the vegan "Tostada Tosca": soy cutlets in a spicy tomato cream with kidney beans & peppers on a wholemeal tortilla baked with cheese, soy skyr and truffle oil.

Recommendations of the month

In the morning - The Stulle

Anyone who thinks of sandwiches as loveless sandwiches with butter or cheese will be pleasantly surprised when they leave this café. There are slices of bread here - but what slices: The sandwiches are served in gourmet and deluxe versions, creatively combined and extremely richly topped. For example, the Vegan Boom Bread with avocado cream, sweet potato salad and Asian-style tofu mince. Or the Summer Vibes Bread with caponata-style eggplant and tomato vegetables, buffalo mozzarella and creamy pistachio dip.

And even if you don't like sandwiches or have a sweet tooth, you'll be happy: for example, with various bowls, fluffy pancakes or the great breakfast kit: here you can put together your own personal breakfast from all kinds of ingredients such as bread rolls, dairy products, spreads, etc.

Noon - Rocket & Basil

Fresh, unconventional cuisine meets spring-like furnishings in soft pastel green: we're talking about Rocket & Basil by Sophie and Xenia von Oswald, who have already inspired us with the event series "Das Brunch" and are now continuing the concept in their first own café. What exactly can you expect here? The two German-Iranian sisters grew up in Australia and have lived in places like Istanbul and London. This diverse, international influence is also reflected in the menu, which combines fresh herbs and spices from Asia and the Arab world with Western classics.

The results are such wonderfully novel creations as cardamom porridge with apple and kumquat topping or "Winter Kuku" - a Persian frittata filled with various herbs and roasted seasonal vegetables. If you're not in the mood for something savory, you can look forward to a lemony pistachio cake with rose water or full-bodied tahini-halva brownies instead. We think: The perfect place to go on a culinary journey of discovery.

Evening - Est

Est serves modern Japanese cuisine paired with international influences. The special feature: the dishes are inspired by the tapas principle and are explicitly designed for sharing. Divided into three categories - Sea, Land and Earth - the menu has something for every taste.

Under the "Sea" menu you will find dishes with scallops, tuna or octopus, for example. "Land" offers hearty meat creations such as wagyu tartare or a Japanese version of the classic "Duck à l'orange". The "Earth" dishes offer delicious vegetarian and vegan alternatives. Our favorite: the glazed and wonderfully juicy grilled eggplant and the fried mushrooms with miso butter and nori. The great tapas menu is complemented by a selection of fresh sushi.
